Common Dump Truck Lifting Methods

 As the name suggests, the dump truck can automatically tip over to unload materials at a certain angle, which greatly saves unloading time and labor, shortens the transportation cycle, improves production efficiency, and reduces transportation costs. It is a commonly used special transportation vehicle. So common ways of holding dump trucks have their own advantages and disadvantages. The lifting structure of the dump truck can be divided into three types: front top, horizontal and double top according to the position and number of hydraulic cylinders. The advantages and disadvantages of these three lifting structures will be analyzed below.

1. Front top lifting structure:

The front-mounted lifting structure means that the hydraulic cylinder is located at the front of the dump truck, and the dump box is tilted forward through the hydraulic system to dump the material from the rear. The advantages of this lifting structure include:

- Fast unloading speed: The front top lifting structure can dump materials quickly and improve the unloading efficiency.

- Good stability: Since the hydraulic cylinder is located at the front, it can provide better support and stability, reducing shaking and instability when dumping.

- Wide applicability: Suitable for various sizes of unloading boxes, with wide applicability.

However, the front-mounted lifting structure also has some disadvantages:

- High center of gravity: Since the hydraulic cylinder is located at the front, the center of gravity of the dump truck is relatively high, which can easily cause instability of the vehicle.

- Restricted discharge height: Due to the position of the hydraulic cylinder, the discharge height of the front-mounted lifting structure is limited and is not suitable for scenarios that require a higher discharge height.

2. Horizontal lifting structure:

The horizontal lifting structure means that the hydraulic cylinder is located at the bottom of the dump truck, and the dump box is dumped to one side through the hydraulic system, so that the material is dumped from the side. The advantages of this lifting structure include:

- Adjustable discharge height: The horizontal lifting structure can control the tilt angle of the discharge box by adjusting the expansion and contraction of the hydraulic cylinder, thereby realizing discharge at different heights.

- Low center of gravity: Since the hydraulic cylinder is located at the bottom, the dump truck has a lower center of gravity, improving the vehicle's stability.

However, the horizontal lifting structure also has some disadvantages:

- Slow discharge speed: Compared with the front-mounted lifting structure, the horizontal lifting structure has a slower discharge speed and the discharge efficiency is relatively low.

- Limited by space: The horizontal lifting structure requires side dumping and unloading, so unloading in a small space is limited.

3. Double top lifting structure:

The double-top lifting structure means that the dump truck has both a front roof and a horizontal lifting structure. The advantages of this lifting structure include:

- Strong flexibility: The double-top lifting structure can choose front-top or horizontal lifting methods as needed to adapt to the unloading needs of different scenarios.

- Adjustable discharge height: Through the control of the hydraulic system, discharge at different heights can be achieved.

However, the double-top lifting structure also has some disadvantages:

- Complex structure: Compared with a single lifting structure, the double-top lifting structure has a more complex structure, and the maintenance and repair costs may be higher.

- Heavy weight: Since the double-top lifting structure requires the installation of both front-mounted and horizontal lifting systems, the weight of the dump truck is relatively large, which may affect fuel economy and load capacity.
